It goes without saying that transporting fragile glass requires special care, and not just for glaziers. Even slight vibrations and minor impacts—especially on the corners—can quickly become dangerous and cause the glass to crack. Glass plates should therefore always be transported in an upright position. Transport racks are generally used to ensure that glaziers and glass builders can secure glass plates properly. The sharp edges of the glass plates are then secured with sturdy and, if necessary, self-adhesive edge protection, which also serves as a buffer between the individual glass plates. Finally, the glass panes are secured to the transport racks with Sander strapping.

When transporting glass, glaziers and glass fitters should always ensure that glass does not come into contact with other glass and that the transport racks are carefully secured against slipping, even in the event of sudden braking. Sander edge protectors shield against sharp edges and also serve as a buffer between individual panes. Thanks to the edge protectors, the glass panes come to a gentle stop when unloaded. The strapping is significantly cheaper than the usual lashing straps, but offers at least as much stability during transport:
self-adhesive edge protection Glass panes or glass plates, such as those required for the construction of windows or glass roofs, must always be transported in an upright position. Sander edge protection in a self-adhesive design can be easily attached to the edges of the glass at any time and can be removed again with ease after use.
right-angled edge protector This special edge protector, "corner with button," is attached flush to the protective corner bracket. This prevents it from coming loose on its own, even without self-adhesive hot melt adhesive strips, and provides ideal protection for glass panes and glass plates against impacts and crushing.
weather-resistant edge protection Glass panes should not be exposed to harsh weather conditions during transport if possible. However, this cannot always be avoided. In such cases, "Waterproof" edge protection is the ideal solution. Extremely weather-resistant to cold and wet conditions, it ensures load security at all times.
soft strapping that can be retightened Sanderband® KB is used to secure glass panes during transport. Environmentally friendly to produce, it is as strong as steel strapping, but its soft texture protects the delicate glass from damage. It is also much easier to use. Thanks to the practical buckles, it can be retightened at any time.- Strapping with high abrasion protection
Sander strapping "Sanderband® TopStrap LC" is made of polyester yarn and has a polypropylene coating. This inexpensive version can also be lashed down and, thanks to its composition, can withstand particularly sharp edges.
