FROM PERFECT SHOELACES TO PRACTICAL LOAD SECURING
Foundation of the company Fr. Sander Nachf. in Wuppertal-Barmen on 22 October 1865 by Robert Lücke (1837-1882). The manufacturing company (a belt turning shop) makes shoelaces, braids, hat bands and ribbons.
Start of prodcution of “non-woven tapes” like Sanderband® for cargo security on own self-designed and developed production lines.
After World War II the main factory is rebuilt. Production resumes and new strapping and packaging machines (such as automatic strapping machines) are developed. This field develops exceptionally fast and helps the company to become the European leader in this sector.
From the 1950s onwards, other techniques are introduced for the production of technical tapes for cable, electrical, textile and car industries. With the emergence of new materials (cellophane, polyamide) the product range gradually turns to packaging tapes.
New development of the “Kraftwinkel” (edge protection) for pallet securing. Managing directors are Gerd Lücke (4th generation) and Kurt Steinbrenner.
With the new building and the start of production in the modern plant in Nümbrecht-Gaderoth, the company is able to record its greatest expansion.
Sander joins the internationally operating Maillis Group.
Standardized quality confirmed by obtaining certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001.
